In this Monumental tour, starting with a visit to the imposing Sanctuary of Fátima, one of the largest in Europe and the place where one of the main apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima is commemorated, believer or not, is a place that leaves no one indifferent for its majesty.

This is followed by a visit to the Monastery of Batalha, one of the most fascinating Gothic monuments in the Iberian Peninsula, built by D. João I, the Master of Avis in 1836 as a celebration of the victory over the Spanish in Aljubarrota where the Portuguese had a numerical disadvantage 4 to 1. This monastery has also been a UNESCO heritage site since 1993.

Continue to the fishing town of Nazaré and stop for lunch.

Visit to Nazaré, which is increasingly recognized internationally for the famous giant waves (20-30 m) on Praia do Norte, where a phenomenon called “Cannon da Nazaré” occurs, which allows for the creation of waves of immeasurable proportions. This is an area increasingly sought after by surfers of this specialty, especially in winter. The views from the site of Nazaré are breathtaking, it is an elevated place from which you can see the entire city at your feet and the fantastic Atlantic Ocean.

Finally, the trip continues to Vila de Óbidos, a place that needs no introduction, as it is the most beautiful and best preserved medieval town in Europe, where you can wander through the alleys at your leisure, enjoying the local commerce and local artisans and with a little luck even enjoy freshly baked bread in a wood-fired oven. To finish with a golden key, it is mandatory to try (or more than that) the famous “Ginjinha de Óbidos”, an exceptional liqueur that has brought dozens of international awards over the years. After lunch, we will visit the city of Nazaré, internationally recognized for the giant waves (20-30 meters) at Praia do Norte and made famous by world famous surfer Garret McNamara. To end this day full, visit Vila de Óbidos, the most beautiful and best preserved medieval village in Portugal, with a tasting of the inevitable ginjinha. Included
